The Craftsmanship of Beijing-Style Qipao, a municipal-level representative intangible cultural heritage item from Shijingshan District, was featured at the Digital Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Creative Experience Zone during the World Internet Conference Open Day, showcasing the unique charm of traditional Chinese costume culture to global visitors. The Open Day brought together over 80 participating organizations from 16 countries and regions worldwide.

The exquisite and intricate making techniques of the Beijing-style qipao have been passed down for over a century with profound cultural connotations. As a classic attire for modern Chinese women, qipao holds both aesthetic value and historical significance, with far-reaching influence both in China and other countries and regions. One of its core techniques, the making technique of frog buttons (also known as Chinese knot buttons or pankou), originated in the Southern Song Dynasty. Elegant and refined, it is often referred to as the "dragonfly on Chinese women's traditional attire" and serves as a highly representative symbol of classical Oriental elegance.

Zhang Fenglan, a representative inheritor of this craftsmanship, has been developing a series of Beijing-style qipao-inspired cultural products while strictly adhering to traditional techniques. She skillfully integrates Shijingshan's regional cultural symbols and distinctive floral elements into her designs. Her snowflake-themed, frog button-inspired artworks created for the Winter Olympics were selected as Beijing's official gifts in international exchanges, and many of her original works have been showcased at various major events both domestically and internationally. At the event's venue, Zhang's works attracted numerous visitors.

The showcase, leveraging the World Internet Conference, helps Shijingshan District's outstanding traditional culture gain global influence, achieving a two-way integration of traditional intangible cultural heritage with the digital vitality of the new era.
