Beijing CBD has attracted over 10,000 foreign-invested enterprises, accounting for more than 30 percent of the city's total. It was ranked the most attractive business district in China in the latest global business district attractiveness rankings.
Beijing CBD is currently home to 125 regional headquarters of multinational corporations, accounting for nearly half of the city's total and underscoring its prominent position as a hub for headquarters-based economic activity. Its financial openness continues to expand, with nearly 1,200 licensed financial institutions, including almost 300 foreign-funded institutions, representing nearly 40 percent of the city's total. Beijing's CBD has attracted more than 10,000 foreign-funded enterprises, making up more than 30 percent of the city's total. In the consumer sector, the CBD's trillion-yuan-scale commercial district has maintained steady growth, with annual card-based spending exceeding 120 billion yuan for three consecutive years, ranking among the country's leading commercial districts in terms of consumer activity. International consumer services in the CBD continue to improve, with more than 200 tax refund stores for departing overseas travelers, accounting for one-eighth of the city's total and more than half of all such stores in Chaoyang District.
