The 13th China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) will be held at Shougang Park for five days from September 9 to 13. The first three days are designated for professional visitors, and the last two days are for the general public.

This year's CIFTIS will be co-hosted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. This is the first time that WIPO is joining as a co-host.

This year, three venues at Shougang Park (CIFTIS's permanent site) will be upgraded and renovated. After the renovation, the exhibition space will be further expanded, and the capacity of meeting rooms will be increased significantly, enabling the park to host conferences of different types and sizes.

The guest country of honor for this year's CIFTIS is Norway, which will set up a national pavilion highlighting its advantageous sectors such as green energy, digital technology, healthy home items, and premium nutrition products, showcasing the country's distinctive industries and achievements related to innovation.

The guest province of honor is Guangxi, which, using the theme "Trade and Beauty of Guangxi", will showcase its development achievements in areas such as digital services, cross-border/boundary e-commerce, cultural tourism and creative cultural products, as well as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) services. Guangxi will also host events such as a promotion for the pilot program of TCM inbound consumption and a themed forum on service outsourcing.

So far, over 40 countries (including Norway and Australia) and international organizations (including the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization) have confirmed their participation, with exhibitions and events to be held at the national or headquarters level. More than 250 enterprises and institutions, including China Mobile, HKT, the Bank of China, Tencent, Walmart, Siemens, Eli Lilly and Company, and Johnson & Johnson, will also take part in the fair.

Four thematic exhibitions — Sports Services, Telecommunications, Computer and Information Services, Transportation and Business Services, and Education Services — will feature dedicated zones for international expansion services, providing a comprehensive showcase of solutions that support Chinese companies in expanding into foreign markets. The remaining five thematic exhibitions will present overseas projects and successful cases at the participating companies' booths.

The newly established International Expansion Services Roadshow Area will bring together enterprises and institutions in fields such as finance, law, accounting, intellectual property, advertising, and human resources to conduct on-site promotions, providing professional services and a space for exchanges and networking.

This year's CIFTIS will feature a system consisting of the Global Trade in Services Summit and a series of forums on the development of trade in services. The forum series will be organized around four major themes: openness and integration, win-win cooperation, digital and intelligent innovation, and green development, aligning with the trends of digitalization, intelligent transformation, green transformation, standardization, and integration in trade in services.

Other highlights for this year's CIFTIS include influential reports and rankings. Four flagship publications have been confirmed for release, including the World Tourism Cities Development Report, the 2026 APEC Smart City Rankings, the 2026 Space Infrastructure Rankings, and the China Urban Science and Technology Innovation District Development Report.

During the fair, Shougang Park will host a series of supporting events spanning cultural performances, sports competitions, markets and more. Twelve events have already been confirmed, such as the Ethnic Handicrafts Integration and Innovation Carnival, the China International Candy Season, and the FIBA OPEN 3×3. In addition, around 10 industrial study tours will be organized to help business visitors from around the world gain an in-depth understanding of the industrial strengths of Beijing and its surrounding areas.
