Following the citywide establishment of Instant Refund Service outlets, the Beijing Municipal Tax Service has further upgraded its departure tax refund system by introducing the One-Tap Smart Tax Refund service. The new service is now available at selected tax refund stores, including those in the Palace Museum and Beijing Fun, as well as the flagship stores of DJI and Insta360 in the China World Mall. International travelers can now enjoy enhanced convenience when they shop in Beijing.

On April 10, Nathalia, a traveler from El Salvador, became the first user of this new service. She successfully completed her tax refund application at DJI's store in the China World Mall. From scanning a QR code and submitting her application to receiving the refund, the entire process took less than 2 minutes. "Beijing's tax refund service is so convenient!" she exclaimed. "The operation is simple and fast, and I got my refund on the spot. The shopping experience is excellent."
Unlike the traditional counter-based processing model, this new service allows overseas travelers to complete the entire tax refund process—from invoice (fapiao) issuance, personal information verification and refund form application to immediate refund— by scanning the designated QR codes with Alipay. The refund is credited immediately on the spot, reducing the processing time per transaction from the previous 5 to 10 minutes to less than 2 minutes.
The first stores offering this service are located in shopping districts frequented by overseas visitors. Through this streamlined process, international tourists can claim refunds with greater ease while shopping for Beijing-style souvenirs and enjoying the vibrant cultural charm of the city.
