The Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) Spring Subsidized Movie-Going Event (北京国际电影节春季惠民观影活动), part of Beijing's initiative for promoting cultural consumption, will run from April 10 to May 5, with a plan to distribute subsidies totaling 5 million yuan, offering four benefits for consumers: instant ticket discounts, a designated film section, a BJIFF section, and performance-related perks.

About the Perks

During the event, all films screened in cinemas across Beijing will be eligible for an instant discount of 10 yuan per ticket, limited to two such tickets per person. For films in the designated film section, tickets start as low as 19.9 yuan, with discounts ranging from 2 to 60 yuan per ticket. Exclusive discounts will be offered for BJIFF screenings, with subsidies of 800,000 yuan to be allocated all in one go. Performance coupons valued at 2 million yuan will also be distributed.

How to Claim

Starting at 9:30 every day during the event, users can open the Maoyan (猫眼), Meituan (美团), or Dianping (大众点评) app and go to the "Movies & Shows" (电影/演出) section, or open WeChat and navigate to the "Event Tickets" (电影演出玩乐) sub-section under the "Pay and Services" (服务) section. Confirm the selected city is Beijing, then browse the list of cinemas in Beijing, and select your cinema, film, and screening time to enjoy the public subsidies. Note that discounts are available in limited quantities each day and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
