On August 7, the "Beijing Central Axis Through the Lens", a themed photo and video exhibition, opened at the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall. The exhibition showcases the cultural significance of the city's Central Axis, the beauty of its heritage, and the outstanding achievements in the comprehensive preservation and renewal of Beijing's old part through diverse perspectives and photographic techniques, featuring still photographs and original videos that mirror the past and the present of the Central Axis.

A total of 192 photographic works and two films (titled respectively "Eternal Vitality of Beijing Central Axis" and "Timeless Renewal: Where Morning Bells and Evening Drums Resound") are on display. Through the combination of AI technologies and art installations, the exhibition presents an immersive space integrating an art display, a science education exhibition, and a meeting area. Also on display are the archived historical images and videos of the Beijing Central Axis during the early years of the People's Republic of China.

The exhibition panels, video narrations, and creative cultural brochures are all in three languages (Chinese, English and French). Scheduled to run for over a year, the exhibition will include the irregularly scheduled "Central Axis Salons" throughout its duration, inviting photographers to share their creation stories, urban planners to elaborate on the cases of renovating Beijing's old part, and locals to recount their memories of the evolution of hutongs. The "Public Open Days" will also be organized, allowing visitors to bring their own photos associated with the Central Axis for offline exchanges. Outstanding photos will be periodically incorporated into the exhibition display.
