From July 18 to August 18, an exhibition on the historical photos and videos of the Beijing Central Axis was launched at Guanzhong Central Axis Cultural Museum. Featuring visual historical records of buildings and daily life, this exhibition is for the celebration of the first anniversary of the successful inscription of the Beijing Central Axis on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Focusing on the real-life elements, the exhibition consists of nine sections, including "Scroll of the Central Axis", "Time of the Central Axis", "Vibrant Life Along the Central Axis", "Renewal of the Central Axis", "Videos of the Central Axis", etc. Among the exhibits are more than 100 old photos and the materials used for the nomination of the World Heritage status, which present the history and life details along the 7.8-kilometer-long Central Axis. The photos on display and the videos played feature city gates, altars, palaces, temples, temple fairs, and street shops, among others.
Admission to the exhibition is free. Visitors may book their visits via the official WeChat account or the official mini‑program of the museum (观中).
