From July 9 to 18, the Bond with Kuliang: 2025 China-U.S. Youth Choir Festival was held in Fuzhou and Beijing. During the event, Chinese and American youths engaged in choir exchanges, cultural visits, and interactive activities to deepen their understanding of the charming traditional Chinese culture and the vitality of China's modern development. On July 15, nearly 100 faculty members and students from the Select Singers Choir and the Women's Chorus at Brigham Young University visited the Palace Museum and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum.

Brent Wells, Associate Professor of Choral Conducting and Ensembles at Brigham Young University, has led choirs to stage concerts in Beijing many times. Wells said that he was impressed by China's culture, architecture and history. He expressed his hope to deepen academic exchanges and actively explore new ways of collaboration, such as exchange visits of professors, to enhance the interaction and collaboration between the two countries in the fields of culture and education.

Speaking of their trip to Beijing, choir members could hardly contain their excitement. Emma, a student visiting Beijing for the first time, found everything in this city novel and fascinating. In her eyes, Beijing is "vibrant and full of life". She was highly attracted to the city's rich history and culture. "I strongly recommend people to visit Beijing's universities which are great. The locals are very kind. And I think there are many awesome opportunities."

Alex, who dreams of being a professor in China after completing his PhD and doing research on cross-cultural negotiations, stated that Beijing, as a mixture of modernity and traditions, is unique for him. He was impressed by the local food, architecture, and culture. She said, "I would definitely tell people to come check out the universities here. They're really lovely, and the people are wonderful. And I think there's some really awesome opportunities."

During the event, the participating students exchanged their feelings about their trips to landmarks such as the Palace Museum, and shared their favorite local dishes. In their views, Beijing is "vast" and "free". Many students expressed a strong desire to study in Beijing and discover more academic opportunities.
