Why 'Beijing Service' Draws Praise from Foreign Media?

On the afternoon of June 26, the "Beijing at Your Service" event organized by CRI Online successfully concluded. During the event, 35 foreign journalists from 28 countries across the Asia-Pacific and Eurasian regions visited the Beijing Government Service Center and the 12345 Hotline Service Center, where they gained an in-depth understanding of Beijing’s achievements in modernizing urban governance and experienced up close the thoughtfulness and efficiency of Beijing Service.

The journalists toured the Beijing Municipal Government Service Hall and the 12345 Hotline Service Center, where they learned about the integrated service counter mode, the self-service facilities, the mechanism of extended service hours, and the operation of the Beijing Loan Service Center. Through on-site observation and interactions, they gained an insight into how the Swift Response to Public Complaints mechanism works, witnessed firsthand what Beijing has achieved in meticulous governance as well as improving people's livelihood, and recognized the city's progress in the digital transformation, standardization, and institutionalization of its government services.

Foreign media journalists watched the promotional video of the International Web Portal of Beijing and gained a comprehensive understanding of the nine-language request intake channels of "12345 Online".

Maxim Nachinov, a journalist from Sverdlovsk Oblast's Oblastnaya Gazeta in Russia, highly praised the International Web Portal of Beijing, stating that Beijing is at the global forefront in this regard. He added that the website provides extensive information, including practical information on visas and transportation, among others, making it exceptionally convenient and useful. Nachinov further affirmed that he would recommend it to everyone visiting Beijing.

Boris Manzhukov, an editor of Obieqtivi, a Georgia-based TV station, identified the International Web Portal of Beijing as a trusted friend and reliable assistant. Impressed by its extensive information and full range of functions, he noted that the website provides on-demand access to all information about Beijing and offers assistance or solves problems for you regardless of time or location.

Michael Wesley Cabagnot, Operations Director and an editor of the Filipino newspaper BusinessMirror, said that the 12345 Online provides expatriates who encounter issues while living in Beijing with direct and efficient channels for resolution. He added that during his past three months in the city, the International Web Portal of Beijing offered him substantial useful information. Particularly, the website's information on departure tax refunds offered significant convenience for his shopping in the city.

Syed Aoon Muhammad, head of the investigation team at Pakistan's SUCH News, said that Pakistan also has similar websites, but these websites fall short in both processing speed and coverage when compared with that of Beijing. He added that the 12345 Online helps foreigners resolve problems and supports them in living a better life in Beijing. He remarked that such a comprehensive information platform is highly valuable, suggesting capital cities worldwide should learn from Beijing.
