From May 31, all lines operated by Beijing Subway Limited (excluding the Capital Airport Express) have fully offered dual-temperature carriage mode, with cold and cool carriages differing by 2°C in temperature settings to meet diverse passengers' travel needs in summer.
According to the vehicle configuration of different lines, the placement of dual-temperature carriages varies accordingly.
Based on the direction of train operation, the first three carriages of Line 5 and Yizhuang Line are cold ones, and the last three carriages are cool ones.
For Lines 6 and 7, the first four carriages are cold ones, while the last four carriages are cool ones.
For Lines 3, 11 and 12, the first and fourth carriages are cold ones, while the second and third carriages are cool ones.
For all other subway lines, the first, second, fifth and sixth carriages are designated as cold ones, while the third and fourth carriages are cool ones. The Capital Airport Express currently does not offer differentiated temperature settings.
Passengers can choose carriages according to their own needs by following carriage temperature signs, station announcements, and in-carriage audio guidance.
In addition to activating the dual-temperature carriage mode, Beijing Subway has completed the flushing and water supply work of the air-conditioning cold water system in all stations across its railway network, getting ready to start at any time. For above-ground stations, newly installed evaporative air coolers and multi-split air conditioning units, which are part of the thermal environment improvement project, have been well maintained and adjusted, and entered their trial operation phases.
