From May 8 to 9, Saudi Arabian Oil Company (hereinafter referred to as "Saudi Aramco") held its 2025 Global Board Meeting in Beijing's Central Business District (Beijing CBD). This is the first time that the meeting has taken place in Beijing. Leveraging this opportunity, Beijing CBD will further expand cooperation with Saudi Aramco in fields such as energy innovation, digital economy, and sustainable development.
As the only state-owned petroleum company of Saudi Arabia, as well as one of the largest integrated oil, gas and chemicals companies in the world, Saudi Aramco officially set up its Asian headquarters in Beijing CBD in 2013. Since then, the company has not only strengthened cooperation with the local enterprises in the technology R&D and green energy sectors, but also driven the synergy between upstream and downstream sectors of the relevant industry chains, serving as an essential force in fostering the green transition of the global energy sectors.
Beijing CBD, as the frontline of the capital's opening-up and an important window for its international communication, has been enhancing its internationalized positioning and constructing a world-class business environment in recent years. In 2023, Beijing CBD officially launched the "Headquarters Growth Plan", aiming to construct a multilayered, multidisciplinary, and multi-directional system of policies supporting the development of headquarters. By March 2025, Beijing CBD has been home to 122 regional headquarters of multinational corporations, a number accounting for nearly 50 percent of such headquarters in the city. This year, Beijing CBD is set to be the location for the board meetings of multiple headquarters companies, to fully present the strong attractiveness of China's high-standard opening-up.
