Recently, China's National Culture Heritage Administration and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of typical cases for the preservation and utilization of the witnesses of the "Republic's Traces" and industrial heritage. The case submitted by Shougang Construction and Investment Co., Ltd., "Shougang Park: Preservation, Utilization, Development, and Transformation of Main Steel Production Process in Shougang, Beijing", was selected as a typical case for the preservation and utilization of national industrial heritage.

Founded in 1919, Shougang became one of the top ten steel production bases in China after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. In preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, Shougang carried out its strategic relocation and adjustment project. After the production was suspended, the old Shougang plant area actively explored transformation approaches and developed the New Shougang High-end Industry Comprehensive Service Area.

The park has been progressing rapidly, forming a comprehensive business format with distinctive industrial characteristics, which integrates service systems such as accommodation, catering, and conventions and exhibitions. The park boasts diverse scenarios including "Tech+", "Sports+", "Culture+", and "Conventions+", and has become the permanent venue for events such as the China International Fair for Trade in Services, Beijing New Year Countdown, and the ESG China Innovation Annual Conference. Currently, there are 878 enterprises in the park, with a total registered capital exceeding CNY 78 billion, and more than 170 enterprise qualifications such as national high-tech enterprises, specialized, refined, differential and innovative enterprises, and gazelle enterprises. The park has hosted major international events such as the FIS Snowboard & Free Ski Big Air World Cup and the WTT China Smash. Shougang Park has become an important symbol of Beijing's in-depth urban transformation and a global benchmark of the largest-scale industrial district revitalization implemented by enterprises.
