'Giant Pandas of Birds' Spotted in Beijing!

Recently, 16 black storks once again gathered at Tangzhishan Reservoir in Shunyi District, Beijing. The species is under Class I protection in China and nicknamed the "giant panda of birds".

In June 2023, black storks were also observed at this reservoir. This year is the third year they've been spotted here.

Over the years, the aquatic ecosystem of Tangzhishan Reservoir has continuously improved thanks to constant ecological water replenishment. Consequentially, over 30 species of wild birds, such as black storks, Oriental storks, common coots and great crested grebes. All of these lead to a better ecosystem marked by harmonious coexistence.
