From September 12 to 16, the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) will be held in Beijing, and Shougang Park has been designated as one of the two venues to host CIFTIS for the fourth time.

In 2021, CIFTIS began to be hosted at two venues for the first time, with one of which being Shougang Park. The park gave a vivid interpretation of the innovative development of CIFTIS by creating a modern exhibition model with industrial, garden-style, and clustering characteristics.

In 2024, Shougang Park will be renovated for the fourth year of hosting CIFTIS. After the renovation, the area for CIFTIS will reach 410,000 square meters, with 14 modern exhibition halls, including 11 indoor exhibition halls, one comprehensive exhibition hall, and two membrane-structure outdoor exhibition halls. A total of 18 meeting rooms will be available. Additionally, the supporting facilities such as the No. 4 Blast Furnace and the Main Control Building will be transformed into a complex for international conventions and exhibitions, adding a new highlight of sustainable utilization of industrial heritage for serving urban exhibitions.

The CIFTIS facilities in Shougang Park have been further optimized for a more reasonable layout and more comfortable experiences. All 14 halls have been numbered clockwise, with the No. 4 Blast Furnace designated as the No. 1 exhibition hall, so that the overall distribution of venues is clear at a glance. At the same time, the guidance signs in the park and the CIFTIS area will be improved with more than 80 pieces (in 20 groups) of new fixed signs. As a result, the exhibitors and visitors can quickly reach their desired locations. Electronic screens and ground guidance signs will also be provided for clear guidance, a more compact overall layout, and a higher utilization rate.

With an entrance hall in the east, the area for the 2024 CIFTIS in Shougang Park will be accessible from all four directions, and all entrance halls are closely integrated with surrounding municipal roads and subway stations to ensure smooth traffic flows and enhance visitor accessibility. The surrounding roads will also be improved to facilitate the travel of locals and tourists, enhancing the experiences in attending the exhibition. In addition, the number of the toilets in the CIFTIS area will increase by 89.8 percent compared with 2023, and temporary ecological toilets will be set up during the exhibition period. With a service radius of no more than 150 meters, these measures will effectively enhance the humanized experiences.
