Winner List of 2nd Science Fiction Planet Award Announced

The winner list of the Second Science Fiction Planet Award has been recently announced.

The award, launched in 2023, attracted 458 valid entries from various countries and regions worldwide, including Japan, Italy, the United States, Canada, and Germany, as well as China's provinces, municipalities, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan region. Through a series of processes including nomination, solicitation, review, and a final competition, winners were selected across ten categories. The total prize money awarded amounted to CNY 6.65 million.

The Best Sci-Fi Creation Award was claimed by Zhejiang Time Axis Technology Co., Ltd. for its groundbreaking "LED Virtual Filming and Production Technology", known for crafting immersive virtual spatial visualizations. Beyond Real LTD clinched the Best Sci-Fi Experience Award for its "FreeAI Builder", a cutting-edge AIGC tool specialized in creating sci-fi-themed metaverse content. Sky Limit claimed the Best Sci-Fi Creative Product Award for its No. 1 Blast Furnace - SoReal Science Fiction Paradise in Shougang Park, an amusement facility designed to become an all-immersive space exploration-themed sci-fi complex.

Literary Award

The Best Sci-Fi Long Story Award went to We Live in Nanjing by Tian Rui Shuo Fu. Bao Shu's Our Martian claimed the Best Sci-Fi Medium Story Award. Gu Shi won the Best Sci-Fi Short Story category for Choosing a City.

Work Award

The Wandering Earth II claimed the Best Sci-Fi Movie Award, while Three-Body was honored with the Best Sci-Fi Drama Series Award. The Best Sci-Fi Enlightening Work award was presented to The Future Handbook.

Contribution Award

The Contribution Award was presented to Tōya Tachihara, a Japanese science fiction author recognized for her efforts in promoting Chinese science fiction literature and fostering the cultural exchange between the science fiction communities in China and Japan. Her initiatives have played a vital role in introducing Chinese science fiction literature and its cultural context to Japanese readers.
