Every March and April, the suburban railway S2 line in Beijing meanders through a vibrant sea of flowers. The mountains are covered in blossoms, and Juyongguan is at its most breathtaking during this time of year.
In just a few days, the mountain flowers at Juyongguan will reach their peak bloom. Photography enthusiasts and sightseers can delight in the splendid view of the train traversing through the blossoms from the wooden walkway and the viewing platform at the eastern slope of Jiuxian Temple in Juyongguan Village. (Note: The wooden walkway is expected to open to the public after March 23).
Furthermore, the Juyongguan Great Wall Scenic Area has officially launched an aerial panorama project named "Viewing Changping". You can take a helicopter ride to savour the magnificent scenery of the Juyongguan Great Wall and the Ming Tombs, both significant UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites, as well as the whole Changping District, offering panoramic views from various angles.
To meet the spring outing demands of passengers, from March 15 to 31, 2024, Line S2 will operate seven pairs of trains daily. Additionally, four extra pairs of trains will be temporarily added on March 23, 24, 30 and 31.
