As spring begins, Fengtai District of Beijing recommends four most magnificent greenways for flower viewing, field trips, and bike riding.
Fengtai District has made significant progress in building beautiful greenways. The total length of greenways in the district has reached 156.42 kilometers, including 64.5 kilometers of urban greenways and 91.92 kilometers of greenways in parks. The greenways connect paths in parks, roadside and waterside green belts, non-motorized vehicle lanes and urban roads, allowing citizens to get closer to nature, exercise, ride bikes and learn relevant knowledge.

Route 1: Lize Business Center — Liao and Jin City Wall Museum — Cross-river bridge on the east side of Laihuying South Road —River bank near You'anmen Sports Association — Under the bridge of Beijing South Railway Station (south side) — Under the bridge of Majiapu East Road (south side) — Dahongmen Metro Station — Under the bridge of South 3rd Ring Road (east side) — Under the bridge of Beijing South Railway Station (north side) — Shuangshi Community Park
Length: 10 kilometers (one-way); 20 kilometers (two-way)
Reason: This greenway allows you to stay away from the hustle and bustle of urban life and immerse yourself in nature.
Must-visit sites: Lize Financial Business District, and banks of the Liangshui River
Highlights: plants and flowers such as cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, Mexican asters, lavenders and rhododendrons, scenic fishponds, recreation stations, etc.
Targeted group(s): Citizens who enjoy strolling and slow-paced lifestyle
Route 2 (Beijing Garden Expo Park): Square in front of Gate No. 3 — Gingko Avenue — Exhibition areas — Garden Expo Lake — Hedi Road — Wetland — Square in front of Gate No. 3
Length: The 2023 Beijing Open Half Marathon Park Run loops around the internal roads of Beijing Garden Expo Park three times, with the length totaling 21.0975 kilometers.
Reason: The half marathon event of the 16th Beijing Municipal Sports Games and the 51st Beijing Open Half Marathon Park Run were held on the half marathon track of Beijing Garden Expo Park. The track is hailed as the most beautiful one in garden landscape.
Must-visit sites: Everywhere.
Highlights: In addition to the stunning garden scenery in four seasons throughout the year, visitors can also sip tea in the Wuhan Garden, gaze upon the "starry sky" inside a 360-degree dome, join in "fights" in the CS Base, and watch a pingshu (storytelling) performance at Fengyuan Pingshu House. Themed events are also open to the public during holidays.

Route 3 (from east to west): Liuliqiao — Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway — Yuanbo Avenue — Yuanboyuan South Road — Changxing Road — Beigong National Forest Park — Qianling Mountain Park — Qinglong Lake Park — Quanhu East Road — Qinglong Lake Park — Nangong Tourist Scenic Area — Guaicun Village — South-to-North Water Diversion Line
Length: 31.6 kilometers
Reason: Heading west, crossing the Yongding River, and walking into the countryside and forests... Visitors can take great pictures here. Every passerby will stop and explore more.
Must-visit sites: Beijing Garden Expo Park Greenway, Beigong National Forest Park, Qinglong Lake Park, and Qianling Mountain Park.
Highlights: Spring flowers and colorful autumn scenery along the Beijing Garden Expo Park Greenway, Qinglong Lake, and Qianling Mountain, the highest mountain in the southwest of Beijing with the largest group of grottoes in the city.
Targeted group(s): Cycling enthusiasts.
Route 4: Lugou Bridge — Wanping Ancient City — Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression
Length: 1.5 kilometers
Reason: Visitors can wander around the Lugou Bridge and Wanping Ancient City, and visit the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to learn about the stories of patriotic heroes.
Must-visit sites: Stone Lions on the Lugou Bridge, Wanping Ancient City and Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
