The measures adopted by Beijing's Traffic Management Authority to extend dates for the renewal and submission of materials will be terminated on April 30, with vehicle and driver services returning to normal on May 1. Please be advised that extension will no longer be allowed for overdue driver's license renewals, motor vehicle inspections and other services that could result in cancellation of a driver's license or deregistration of a motor vehicle.  

In order to prevent the further spread of the pandemic and better serve the citizens, Beijing's Traffic Management Authority previously adopted temporary measures to extend dates for renewing and submitting materials for a number of services such as driver's license examinations and renewals and motor vehicle inspections. According to the authority's announcement on February 15, in view of the return of production and life to normal in the city, vehicle and driver services will resume normal operation on May 1.

Beijing's Traffic Management Authority will no longer approve extension for overdue motor vehicle inspections and the inspections shall be carried out within the prescribed time limit. Drivers who have renewed their licenses without submitting physical examination certificates shall submit such certificates before April 30 to avoid future restrictions on serivces.

Citizens are advised by the Traffic Management Authority to deal with matters including driver's license renewals and examinations, motor vehicle inspections, and electric bicycle registration within the prescribed time limit. More than 30 services can currently be accessed through the Traffic Management 12123 ("交管12123") app, including online application for an e-version of the driver's license, reissuance or replacement of motor vehicle plates, change of motor vehicle contact information, recordation of motor vehicles owned by other individuals or organizations, and application for change of the registration place for a motor vehicle.
