First China Beijing Animation Festival Kicks off

At 19:30 on July 20, the launch ceremony of the 1st China Beijing Animation Festival kicked off at Beijing Exhibition Center. This year, the China Beijing Animation Festival (hereinafter referred to as the "Festival") is hosted by the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, organized by the Publicity Department of NRTA, Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, the CPC Xicheng District Committee, and Xicheng District People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and co-organized by several institutions, including the China Animation Association (CAA) and Beijing Radio and Television Station (BRTV).

The first Festival sets its sights on "building three centers" (namely a center for original Chinese animation works, a center for leading and talented figures in the animation industry of China, and a center for sci-tech innovation for Chinese animation) and "developing three major platforms" (namely a platform for issuing policies for cinematic and televisual animation of China, an authoritative platform for releasing achievements relevant to the original animation works of China, and a platform for exchanges within the animation industry of China).

From July 21 to 23, the Festival offers an open day for the public, with several exhibition areas dedicated to providing sci-tech interactions, classical original works of China, etc. Meanwhile, featured events such as the "Voices for Animation" Dubbing Contest and an animation puppetry concert will also take place.

Moving forward, animation works at home and abroad will be broadcasted and released through various mediums, including cinemas, satellite television stations, and online video platforms from July to September this year, following a selection process conducted by the organizing committee of this year's Festival. In addition, special events  such as the Animation Festival for University and College Students and animation dubbing contests, will be launched. Furthermore, the organizing committee is also projected to launch the Annual Development Report for Chinese Animation, release Several Opinions on Facilitating High-quality Development of Animation Industry of Beijing Municipality, and establish Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Innovation Center for Children's Video Programs.
