(I) Overview

Pinggu National Agricultural Science and Technology Park (the "Park" for short) was officially recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China as part of the eighth batch of the National Agricultural Science and Technology Parks in 2018. The Park emphasizes the innovation and development of agricultural technologies. It now houses a variety of innovative resources, enhancing regional ecological advantages and fostering the coordinated integration of the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. Its goal is to establish itself as a National Agricultural Science and Technology Park that has a global outlook, aligns with national strategies, and reflects the unique features of Beijing, while bolstering the agricultural industry in Zhongguancun, thereby positioning itself as a technology-based agricultural hub in China.

(II) Functional Positioning

The Park prioritizes six major industries: the modern seed industry, smart agriculture, intelligent equipment, biotechnologies, nutrition and health, and food safety. It strives to become a National Agricultural Science and Technology Park that has a global perspective while aligning with national strategies and reflecting Beijing's unique features.

(III) Development Situation

The Park is now home to prominent enterprises and research institutes in China and from abroad, including New Hope Group, the China Intelligent Bio-agriculture Institute Beijing International, and the China Agricultural University. These entities actively engage in technology-driven innovation and achievement commercialization within the Park, driving the rapid advancement of agricultural technologies. The Park has achieved significant milestones in various fields, including the modern seed industry, smart agriculture, intelligent equipment, biotechnologies, nutrition and health, and food safety. It has developed a diverse development pattern that features livestock and poultry breeds with independent intellectual property rights, a 5S smart pig farm, a futuristic orchard, an agricultural science smart city, a base for the commercialization of cutting-edge biological technologies, and a smart central kitchen platform, effectively connecting the industrial chain from research and development to application. Moreover, the park continues to improve its business environment by providing a wide range of supporting policies and services to facilitate the growth of enterprises operating within the Park.
