In the first quarter this year, Beijing's total value of imports and exports of goods trade (including data of the central institutions based in Beijing; hereinafter the same) reached 766.03 billion yuan, up 6.4 percent year-on-year, signaling a strong growth momentum and a solid start to the year.
Beiqi Foton Motor epitomizes the accelerated global expansion of Beijing's high-end manufacturing industry. Data shows that the brand sold 54,000 vehicles overseas in the first quarter, up 34.4 percent year-on-year, further boosting the global presence of Beijing's products of smart manufacturing.
During the same period, Beijing's total value of imports and exports of high-tech products hit 134.29 billion yuan, up 11 percent. Specifically, exports reached 51.72 billion yuan, up 27 percent, while imports stood at 82.57 billion yuan, up 2.9 percent. Private enterprises recorded 130.43 billion yuan in imports and exports, up 35.1 percent, maintaining double-digit growth for four consecutive quarters. Beijing's trade volume with the Belt and Road partner countries amounted to 425 billion yuan in the quarter, accounting for 55.5 percent of the city's total volume of goods trade.
