Beijing's Foreign Trade Export Volume Exceeds CNY 500 Billion in First 10 Months This Year

Recently, Beijing Customs released the import and export data in the Beijing region for the first 10 months this year. According to the statistics, from January to October 2024, Beijing's export volume surpassed CNY 500 billion, marking the second-highest level in history for the same period. Among all the exported products, mobile phones, integrated circuits, and automobiles achieved higher growth.

From January to October this year, foreign trade in the Beijing region was characterized by enhanced vitality of market entities, expanded growth momentum in the comprehensive bonded zones, significant growth in the import and export of high-tech products, and deepened regional cooperation. Data shows that in the first 10 months, the import and export volume of private enterprises in Beijing reached CNY 345.7 billion, a figure that indicates an increase of 10.8 percent and accounts for 11.6 percent of the total foreign trade value in the region, up by 1.1 percentage points compared with the same period last year.

In terms of the accelerated upgrades of the open platforms, in the first 10 months, Tianzhu Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Daxing Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone (Beijing region) registered import and export volumes of CNY 106.65 billion and CNY 1.93 billion, respectively, up by 2.6 percent and 140.8 percent, showing strong growth momentum. Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (including Yizhuang Bonded Logistics Center) recorded an import and export volume of CNY 148.39 billion, representing an increase of 9.3 percent, while its imports and exports grew by 8.3 percent and 11.6 percent, respectively, both maintaining a growth trend.

At the same time, the import and export volume of high-tech industries continued expanding. In the first 10 months, the import and export volume of high-tech products in Beijing reached CNY 425.73 billion, indicating an increase of 7.8 percent. During the same period, the medicine and healthcare industry in Beijing achieved an import and export volume of CNY 131.86 billion, representing an increase of 0.7 percent.

In terms of regional cooperation, from January to October, Beijing's import and export volume with the Belt and Road partner countries reached CNY 1.61 trillion, marking an increase of 2 percent; while that with other BRICS countries was CNY 657.93 billion, indicating an increase of 7 percent.
