As one of the earliest foreign automakers to enter the Chinese market, BMW established a representative office in 1994 on the scenic bank of the Liangma River in Chaoyang District, Beijing. Over the past 30 years, China has grown into BMW's largest global market. Wu Yanyan, Vice President of Government and External Affairs, BMW Group Region China, noted that BMW's rapid development has been closely tied to the Chinese government's genuine support for businesses. Over the years, Beijing has been promoting the development of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening Up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (known as the "Two Zones"), with a series of innovative measures taken to better support foreign-funded enterprises.

Wu stated that BMW is proud and honored to be recognized as one of the first batch of Global Service Partners of Beijing, and that this recognition provided with BMW an excellent platform to enhance communication and cooperation with the city's leaders. Additionally, by leveraging our global expertise, BMW is well-positioned to share its insight and suggestions for improving Beijing's business environment and urban development in Beijing. "It's been an incredible journey for BMW's development in Beijing," Wu said.
