Recently, Beijing launched the "2026 Beijing Spring Festival People Beneficial Cultural Consumption Promotion Campaign" (2026年北京新春文化惠民促消费活动), with subsidies of more than 70 million yuan offered, covering various sectors including cinemas, performances, exhibitions and skiing.

Cinemas

From February 15 to March 3, those who purchase movie tickets for any of the 332 designated cinemas in Beijing (subject to actual operation) via Maoyan (猫眼) and Taopiaopiao (淘票票) (apps or WeChat mini-programs) can enjoy limited-time special offers. Offers include 30-yuan-off discounts for morning screenings, 15-yuan-off discounts on regular tickets, and low-price tickets in dedicated film sections, aimed at better satisfying diverse viewing needs. In addition, the two ticketing platforms provide "Movie+" (电影+) discounts for cross-scenario consumption that combines movie viewing with performances, catering, travel and more. Discounts will go live daily at 7:00 every day, available in a limited quantity on a first-come, first-served basis.

From February 10 to March 3, customers who purchase tickets for opera performances, dance dramas, children's plays and other performances through Damai (大麦) or Maoyan (apps or WeChat mini-programs) can enjoy tiered discounts: 40 yuan off for every 100 yuan spent, 80 yuan off for every 200 yuan spent, 120 yuan off for every 300 yuan spent, and 160 yuan off for every 400 yuan spent. Damai has also released additional exclusive coupons worth 500,000 yuan, which can be used when buying tickets for tourism, temple fairs, and lantern shows (10 or 15 yuan off for every 50 yuan spent). Meanwhile, Maoyan has launched promotional campaigns including the distribution of subsidies and points redemption. These offerings are released daily at 9:00 on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

From February 10 to 28 (excluding February 16 and 17), subsidies are available for the China Beijing International Art Biennale. Visitors can get coupon packages of multiple tiers by purchasing tickets through Meituan or Maoyan: 23 yuan off for every 68 yuan spent, 55 yuan off for every 145 yuan spent, and 70 yuan off for every 185 yuan spent. During the Spring Festival holiday, a series of "Art Temple Fair" (艺术庙会) events will also be held, with coupons to be released in a centralized batch each day. Every coupon can be claimed with just a few taps, but is valid only on the day it is issued. Discounts go live daily at 9:00 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Skiing

From February 15 to 23, there will be 16 well-known ski resorts (including Nanshan, Jundushan and Huaibei) taking part in the campaign. Tickets purchased through Meituan (app or WeChat mini-program) are eligible for subsidies: 15 yuan off for every 90 yuan spent, 40 yuan off for every 180 yuan spent, 80 yuan off for every 320 yuan spent, and 150 yuan off for every 500 yuan spent. Meituan will provide additional discount funding, offering "dual discounts". The deals are available daily at 9:00, with discounts offered on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
