30th Old Beijing Chinese New Year Fair

The 30th Old Beijing Chinese New Year Fair, held at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, will last until February 14. Here, you can purchase delicacies from all over China. This year, a "New Year's Gift Fair" has also been set up with intangible cultural heritage-based products, such as mortise-and-tenon toy blocks and clay sculptures of the Lord Rabbit (Tu'er Ye). In addition, intangible cultural heritage inheritors will make sugar figures and sugar paintings on-site.

Chinese New Year Fair at The Grand Summit, Liangmaqiao 

The fair opens only on weekends, featuring many items full of the ambiance of the Spring Festival, such as handwritten Spring Festival couplets and handmade Chinese New Year paintings. Daji Xiang's Spring Festival Fair

This fair opened on January 25 and will last until March 3, featuring more than 30 aesthetic brands. Also, the intangible cultural heritage handicraft workshop allows you to learn about many traditional Chinese handicraft techniques such as paper-cutting and shadow puppetry. Experts from the Forbidden City Publishing House present dialogues on the cultural inheritance of the Beijing Central Axis. The fun treasure-hunting tour route offers you the chance to collect stamps for a lucky bag. In addition, there are talent shows, intangible cultural heritage-inspired flash mobs, traditional snacks, and Chinese New Year goods on sale.

Tongzhou's "Canal Fairs"

The "Canal Fairs" include a total of eight featured fairs, namely Yongledian Fair, Huo County Fair, Xiji Fair, Zhangjiawan Fair, Maqiao Fair, Yujiawu Fair, Taihu Fair, and Taihu Yanyi Market - Gongyuanli Fair. Fairs are scheduled every day this January in Tongzhou. At the same time, more than 50 folk custom experience activities will be launched at the fairs.

1st Madajie Chinese New Year Goods Carnival

The first-ever Madajie Chinese New Year Goods Carnival, taking place at Changjin Road, Shunyi District, opened on January 24 and will last until February 12. The market gathers nearly 60 brands, with stands selling foods, general merchandise, and household items. An intangible cultural heritage experience area has also been set up, where visitors can try blowing sugar figures, making crisp candies, etc. On weekends, dragon and lion dance, dagu (a type of drum performances), and diyangge (a form of traditional dance in northern China) shows are scheduled to be staged in turn.
