Beijing Sports Shopping Carnival to Kick off on August 7

The 6th "August 8" Beijing Sports Shopping Carnival will be held at the Celebration Square in the Beijing Olympic Center from August 7 to 10. 

This year's carnival will include 17 sports events and other activities, covering professional competitions, cultural performances, interactive experiences and more. The Smart Maze Orienteering Challenge (智跑迷宫定向挑战赛), which combines maze navigation with orienteering, will run from 10:00 to 21:00 on August 7 and 8. The 2nd Beijing Parkour Racing Open Competition (北京跑酷竞速公开赛) will begin at 14:00 on August 10, while those interested in extreme sports can also visit the venue for competition during non-competition hours for randomly scheduled parkour activities. The Beijing Youth Physical Fun Track and Field Challenge (北京青少年体能趣味田径挑战赛) will take place from 19:00 to 21:00 from August 7 to 10, featuring various events that blend fun and physical challenges. The venue will also include a cultural exhibition zone for the World Athletics Championships (formerly the "IAAF World Championships in Athletics") as a "warm-up" for the 2027 World Athletics Championships in Beijing. The 2025 FIBA OPEN 3X3 Beijing Basketball Open Tournament (2025 FIBA OPEN 3X3北京三人篮球公开赛) will run from 14:00 to 21:00 on August 9 and 10. The "Sports Gathering" (大家运动汇) events will run from 10:00 to 21:00 from August 7 to 10, featuring popular and entertaining sports such as basketball, tennis, and rowing machines. Other sports events and experiential activities will include simulated triathlons, sailing experiences, and street dance flash mobs.

This carnival has attracted over 80 businesses to participate. The participants are from multiple fields such as sports technologies, outdoor supplies, and sports tourism. Besides a plethora of well-known brands and specialty products in the market area, multiple companies will also showcase rich tourism resources and special products on-site. Notably, China Eastern Airlines (Beijing Branch) will open a special offer zone, providing direct discounts of up to 6 percent for 34 flight routes departing from the Beijing Daxing International Airport for destinations such as Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen.

This carnival will also feature a special cultural exhibition comprehensively showcasing Beijing's glorious history and unique charm as the only Dual Olympic City in the world.

It is reported that the online part of the carnival has been launched from August 1.
