Recently, the "Fascinating Summer Vacation in Beijing" Cultural Tourism Season kicked off with eight themed sections and various discounts.

The eight themed sections feature respectively the industries and technologies, the Great Wall and other historical sites, the nighttime tours, the museums presenting the traditional Chinese culture and the history of China, the water-play experiences and other activities for a cool summer, artistic performances, the cultural experiences of Beijing as a Dual-Olympic City, and the revolutionary heritage of China. In total, the cultural tourism season encompasses a total of 33 themed itineraries, 100 renowned performances and over 100 cultural, commercial, and tourist activities.

Locals and tourists can choose from ten travel routes focusing on industrial and technological elements, through which they can visit Beijing's high-tech companies such as Xiaomi and Baidu, and all kinds of science and technology museums. There are also routes for those intending to stroll in this capital city, including six featuring the Great Wall and other historical sites and 10 providing gastronomical experiences. A total of 20 must-visit distinctive museums, 15 must-go water-play scenic areas in the suburbs of Beijing, 10 unique villages for families, and 100 high-quality performances are also among the recommended venues and activities of the season.

For the discounts on tourism products during the summer vacation, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism has set up a themed brand platform for Beijing Cultural Tourism Season, in collaboration with Meituan. Users of Didi (a ride-hailing App) in Beijing can also scan the relevant QR codes to obtain ride-hailing coupons before July 31, 2024.
