A launch event of the 2024 Demand List for Scenario Innovation for Building Beijing into a Smart City (First Batch) and several other achievements was held on August 9 in Beijing. A total of 11 domestic pioneering scenario-based achievements were displayed, and 38 demands for scenario innovation for building a smart city in 2024 were unveiled.
Beijing initiated the scenario innovation and opening-up for building a smart city in 2023. Focusing on the sticking points in building a smart city development, and key fields like cutting-edge technologies, sensitive monitoring, urban governance, safety emergency response, and intelligent agriculture, the city started with tiny aspects and cases and later extended its efforts gradually to interdisciplinary innovation in large-scale scenarios to build a new model for smart cities. A total of 11 domestically pioneering scenario-based achievements have been yielded in Beijing.
At the launch event, the 2024 Demand List for Scenario Innovation for Building Beijing into a Smart City (First Batch) was officially released, which includes 38 demands for scenario innovation, covering four main fields, namely cutting-edge technologies, public services, social governance, and digital transformation of enterprises. For instance, there is a scenario in which the "swift response to public complaints" is empowered and enhanced by large language models in a digital and intelligent manner. Through developing large language models to make the most of the mass data of the 12345 hotline, and smart analysis of past inquiries, the processing capacity of the hotline will be enhanced while the citizens' experiences will be improved. Another example is the scenario regarding the application of big data at museums. Specifically, a unified big data platform for museums is expected to be built, by using AI-powered identification technologies for the integrated utilization of various types of data, such as geographical information, relics, collections and footfall, and the application of advanced technologies such as collection identification and data feature extraction.
