On February 21, the 12th Chaoyang International Talent Entrepreneurship Conference (ITEC) Innovation Summit will kick off at Garry Culture Center in Chaoyang District, Beijing.

During this summit, the winners of the Global Entrepreneurship Competition will be revealed and the Chaoyang International Talent Innovation Matrix will be released. It will provide a platform for industrial innovation and integration, encompassing multiple activities including government-business matchmaking sessions.

On May 20, 2024, the 12th Chaoyang International Talent Entrepreneurship Conference officially kicked off. The project solicitation phase lasted nearly four months, receiving 3,587 projects from over 14,000 entrepreneurs from 86 countries and regions worldwide. The number of the registered projects set a new record, representing a 59 percent increase compared with the previous year. The conference also showed its greater international influence, attracting over 5,500 foreign talented minds and 1,883 overseas projects, representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 104 percent in terms of overseas registration.

After four rounds of selection, including preliminary rounds, comprehensive semifinals and special sessions, final competition, and on-site evaluations, one Grand Prize, four First Prizes, eight Second Prizes, 12 Third Prizes, and 30 Excellence Awards will be granted, with the winners to be announced at the summit. The winning teams include those consisting of academicians of the CAS and the CAE, scientists with highly cited publications, and individuals selected for national key talent programs, with over 30 percent of the teams coming from top overseas universities such as MIT and the University of Cambridge. Furthermore, the winning projects excel in product development, business operations, market expansion, and other areas, demonstrating strong overall competence.
