A year after its last edition, the "Bestseller" Book Fair has returned. The 2026 "Bestseller" Book Fair recently opened at THE NEW in Xidan, Beijing. Running through November 3, the fair is free and open to the public, with no reservation required.

Unlike conventional book fairs, the "Bestseller" Book Fair focuses on books that have long been in storage, including overstocked titles, copies with minor defects, and damaged books. The fair aims to give these books another chance to reach readers.

This year's fair brings together more than 50 publishers and publishing brands, with over 5,000 titles and more than 20,000 copies on offer, covering literature, history, social sciences, children's books, art books, and many other categories. The fair has also invited Cozybo2k as a bookselling partner, offering nearly 2,000 foreign-language titles in their original editions, with more than 4,600 copies available. All books at the fair are 60 percent to 90 percent off their original prices.

To enhance the visitors' experience, the fair has curated a themed exhibition, "OMG! This Book Actually Didn't Sell Well?!", to help readers understand how editors assess these books and why sales may fall short of expectations.

The exhibition features two interactive activities: the first, "Sales Aren't Everything: Why Do Some Books Miss Their Readers—and the Bestseller List?", invites visitors to vote and leave comments based on their instincts or reading experience; the second is the "I AM FREE" book hunt, in which readers who find books bearing "I AM FREE" stickers at the fair can take one home with any purchase. Each person may claim one book per visit, with 20 free books available each day. The first 40 visitors on weekdays and the first 60 on weekends can receive a sticker or a clear card by following the official account.
