Recently, the China Philharmonic Orchestra's concert hall project, including its supporting rehearsal facilities, has successfully passed its final inspections. The hall is now expected to be completed and put into operation within this year.
Nestled in the core area right next to Sanlitun and the Workers' Stadium in Beijing, the hall has an impressive floor area of around 26,000 square meters. As the largest and most fully equipped single-structure professional concert hall in Beijing, it houses a 1,600-seat symphony auditorium, along with supporting facilities such as an orchestra rehearsal area and a recording studio.

Designed on the idea of "Lotus and Jade", the building features a glass curtain wall on its façade, presenting a translucent texture like that of jade. The ceiling of the grand auditorium is composed of 56 lotus petal-shaped sound-reflecting panels. The central stage can even accommodate 120 musicians and a pipe organ, while the vineyard-style terraced seating area can seat 1,600 people in the audience. Natural light filters down through the skylight, resembling a "flower's heart", creating an immersive concert experience.
Following the operation of the concert hall, the China Philharmonic Orchestra will finally be able to have its own venue for the first time since its foundation in 2000. Going forward, around one-third of its annual performance schedule will be reserved for performances by the China Philharmonic Orchestra, with the remaining time open to top symphony orchestras across the globe. The new establishment will also help build Beijing into a hub for classical music, serving as a new cultural landmark of the capital and a vital platform for international music exchange.
