The year 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the Palace Museum housed in the Forbidden City. The 5th edition of Foreign Diplomats' Tour of Forbidden City was held in Beijing on June 10. Diplomats from more than 30 countries, including Bahrain, Croatia and Serbia, participated in the event.

During the trip, the participating foreign diplomats visited the exhibition "Rejoicing in Woods and Springs—A Journey through Garden Cultures in China and the Wider World" and attended the dialogue themed "Exchange and Mutual Learning of Civilizations in the Forbidden City" for in-depth communication with experts, to strengthen international cultural cooperation by summarizing relevant achievements and experiences together.

Sashko Nasev, North Macedonian Ambassador to China, remarked that the Forbidden City, as a World Cultural Heritage site, is legendary as it carries Chinese civilization with a history of more than 5,000 years. "Events like today's trip of cultural experiences and exchanges are very important, as such events can enhance the mutual understanding between different countries in terms of cultures, and promote people-to-people exchanges."

Tinatin Shishinashvili, Cultural Counselor at the Embassy of Georgia in China, said she had gained a lot from the tour. As a keen enthusiast of Chinese culture, she was glad to see Chinese and Western cultural treasures at the museum's special exhibition. Shishinashvili believes that while Chinese and Georgian cultures are different in many ways, deeper exchanges and mutual learning would reveal an expanding common ground. She noted that the traditional Chinese culture represented by Beijing Central Axis is so charming that each exploration gives her a different feeling.
Eckhard Radermacher, First Secretary of the German Embassy in China, expressed admiration for the magnificent Forbidden City, recommending it as a must-visit site.
