"Beijing's culture embodies a harmonious beauty," Zhang Jianwen, an architect from Malaysia said. Zhang noted that neutrality, balance and harmony are defining features of Beijing's Central Axis, which also represent core principles of Chinese civilization. According to Zhang, the architectural art of the Central Axis, as reflected in cultural and social concepts, reflects the Chinese people's appreciation for diversity.
