On January 20, an exhibition titled "New Year: Celebrating the Year of the Horse" (过年——丙午春节系列主题展) kicked off at the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, showcasing over 100 representative intangible cultural heritage items from across China.

In celebration of the upcoming Year of the Horse, a diverse array of traditional intangible cultural heritage crafts themed around "horses" is on display in the "Galloping Toward a Bright Future" (骥跃鸿途) exhibition area, including paper-cuts, New Year paintings, shadow puppets, ceramics, stone carvings, leather carvings, bamboo weaving works, and clay sculptures.
The "Food is Heaven" (食为天) exhibition area explores traditional Chinese perspectives on food, such as "grain is the foundation" (五谷为本) and "food nourishes life" (食以养人), presenting a variety of intangible cultural heritage foods from across the country.

Lotus-shaped lanterns, peacock vessel-shaped lanterns, and palace lanterns themed "dragon and phoenix in auspicious harmony"… The exhibition area "Lanterns Heralding Spring's Radiance" (光转春辉) features nearly 100 festive intangible cultural heritage lantern artworks, whose sheer diversity and craftsmanship create a vibrant holiday atmosphere.

Visitors can taste delicacies from all around China in the exhibition hall.
Furthermore, at the Intangible Cultural Heritage New Year Gift Fair (非遗年礼市集) inside the exhibition hall, visitors can browse Spring Festival-themed intangible cultural heritage gifts from different parts of China. At multiple booths, practitioners explain and demonstrate traditional craftsmanship while inviting visitors to participate in hands-on experiences, allowing them to immerse themselves in the rich festive atmosphere.

During the exhibition, the museum will also regularly organize displays and performances of representative intangible cultural heritage projects from various regions across the country. Related activities will include New Year lantern displays and intangible cultural heritage food tasting sessions.
The exhibition will run until March 20 (Spring Equinox).
