The "Rhythm of Chinese Opera, Legacy of Elegance" Cultural Experience Event for Spouses of Mission was successfully held on May 26, 2025. Spouses of ambassadors from 19 countries, including Kazakhstan, Greece, Jordan, Bangladesh and the European Union Delegation to China, gathered together with representatives of teachers and students from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts and had an immersive experience of Chinese opera culture.

During the performance session, students from the Music Department performed the chamber music piece "Tanban"; students from the Department of Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera performed the Peking Opera classic "Heavenly Maiden Scattering Flowers"; students from the Department of Chinese Opera Performing Arts recreated the heroic spirit of Hua Mulan, and the Sichuan opera "Bian Lian" (face changing) brought the atmosphere to a climax.

During the immersive experience session, the spouses of ambassadors put on costumes and focused on imitating opera movements, feeling the unique charm of traditional Chinese operas up close. They also painted exquisite opera fans to experience the beauty of traditional Chinese handicrafts.

Ha Angelet Phan, wife of the Belgian Ambassador to China, said that this event not only allowed guests from various countries to appreciate the profound heritage and artistic charm of Chinese opera up close, but also built a bridge of understanding and friendship between different cultures, helping deepen mutual respect and exchanges. Maestra Dalcy Cabrera, wife of the Mexican Ambassador to China, said that she was a fan of Chinese opera and hoped that Chinese artists could promote Chinese opera around the world in the future. Amani Altartir, wife of the Jordanian Ambassador to China, praised Chinese opera as a very attractive art with rich cultural connotations.
