The Beijing Planetarium is the Chinese mainland's only large-scale professional venue dedicated to astronomical education for the public. Exhibitions cover the Earth, the Solar System, the Milky Way, extragalactic systems, the origin and evolution of the universe, astronomical observation, etc. Advanced technologies such as virtual simulation, touch detection, multimedia, and interactive game software are also used to enhance viewing experience, fun and participation. The 8K×8K ultra-high-definition projection in the planetarium of Hall A takes you to explore the mysteries of the universe. Films shown in the Digital Universe Theater of Hall B will then lead you on a journey through the mysterious starry skies. The dynamic 3D and 4D theaters allow you to learn about science and to enjoy some thrilling experiences firsthand. The children's play "Colorful Planets" (五彩星球), staged on weekends and holidays, tells an astronomical story in each episode, allowing children to appreciate the charm of astronomy through entertainment.
