The museum covers an area of about 6,000 square meters. Composed of Tian Yi's Tomb and Cixiang Nunnery, it is divided into three sections: the indoor exhibition area, the exhibition area of scattered stone carvings, and the Tian Yi's Tomb area.
The indoor exhibition area displays representative historic stone carvings and is divided into five thematic exhibition rooms based on the characteristics of the exhibits. The north corridor of the exhibition area of scattered stone carvings exhibits epitaphs of imperial relatives and aristocrats from the Tang Dynasty (618–907) to the Qing Dynasty (1644–1911), while the south side and the square display a large number of stone carvings spanning from the Liao (916–1125) and Jin (1115–1234) dynasties to the Republic of China era (1912–1949).
