In 1950, Lao She, a renowned Chinese literary master, bought a house at No. 10 of Fengsheng Hutong, Naizifu, Dongcheng District, where he spent the last 16 years of his life.

Upon entering the courtyard, visitors will see a colorful wooden screen wall, with a fish tank on one side. The main house (north house) consists of three rooms: the central room and the west side room served as the living rooms, while the east side room was both the studio and bedroom of Lao She's wife, Hu Jieqing. The west side room is Lao She's study and bedroom. All of these rooms are now preserved in their original conditions. The east and west wing rooms now host a permanent exhibition titled "Entering Lao She's World" (走进老舍的世界).
