Covering an area of over 22,000 square meters, the Confucian Temple consists of three courtyards. The complex itself includes four structures aligned along its central axis. From north to south, noteworthy structures include the Gate of the Late Master (先师门), the Gate of Great Accomplishment (大成门), the Hall of Great Accomplishment (大成殿), and the Hall for Admiration of the Sage (崇圣祠).
The Imperial College (国子监), which was the highest educational institution and administrative body for education of the state during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, faces southern directions with three courtyards inside. Along its central axis are Jixian Gate (集贤门, the front gate), Taixue Gate (太学门, the second gate), the Glazed Archway (琉璃牌坊), Biyong Hall (辟雍殿), Yilun Hall (彝伦堂), and Jingyi Hall (敬一亭).
