Recently, the Beijing International Talent Service Port was officially inaugurated in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA). At the launch ceremony, the BDA issued the first batch of third-generation social security cards for foreigners (also known as "Join in Cards") to the representatives of international talents.

Upgraded based on the standard third-generation social security cards, the "Join in Cards" are better tailored to the practical needs of foreign nationals. Each card supports basic functions such as medical services, medicine purchases, urban transportation, park annual passes, and financial services, while also incorporating the holder's work permit number. This integration allows each card to serve as an identity card, effectively linking the holder's work permit, work-type residence permit, and social insurance information, among others.

Moreover, the BDA has expanded its list of scenarios where the cards can be used. Cardholders can access efficient and convenient services in various fields within the BDA, including government services, talent support, transportation, daily life amenities, and cultural activities.

It is reported that 14 banks with a total of 1,244 outlets in Beijing currently issue the third-generation social security cards for foreigners. This time, the BDA provided the first batch of these cards to eight foreign experts.
