As of November 13, the number of medical institutions in Beijing that have enabled mobile payment with medical insurance has increased to 170, while that of the pharmacies supporting online medicine purchases with personal medical insurance accounts has risen to nearly 500.
By paying with their medical insurance accounts on their mobile devices, individuals covered by Beijing's medical insurance program can complete online registration at hospitals and real-time settlement of outpatient expenses without the need to go to the service windows or stand in queue at self-service machines for payment. They can use this feature on "Jing Tong" mini-program or the relevant hospitals' Apps.
In addition, pharmacies that support online medicine purchases with personal medical insurance accounts can now be found in Beijing's 16 administrative districts and Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. Currently, the numbers of such pharmacies on JD.com and Meituan Apps have reached 491 and 490 respectively. Every individual covered by Beijing's medical insurance program can open any of the two Apps, search for "Beijing Medical Insurance", and enter the section for purchasing medicines with medical insurance accounts. After filling in the delivery address, he/she can choose a nearby pharmacy that supports online payment with medical insurance, select medicines marked with "Covered by Medical Insurance", place the order, and choose "Pay with Personal Medical Insurance Account in Beijing". He/she will then be redirected to Alipay's webpage for the online authorization of the Electronic Certificate for Medical Insurance. After finishing the authorization, he/she may use the money in his/her personal medical insurance account for payment.
