The 2025 World Skate Artistic Skating World Championships will take place from October 17 to 30 at the Comprehensive Gymnasium of Yanqing District's National Fitness Center. The 14-day schedule will bring together 944 athletes from 39 countries and regions, forming a key part of Beijing's "Double Olympic 100 Core Events" initiative.

The opening ceremony will be held on October 19 at the Menghua Great Wall Theater in Yanqing District. Centered on the creative concepts of "Beijing culture + the heritage of the Great Wall + Yanqing's ecology", it will showcase Beijing's rich cultural heritage and Yanqing's scenic landscapes.

The championships feature four divisions — junior men, junior women, senior men and senior women — and eight competition events: Free Skating, Inline Free Skating, Solo Roller Dance, Pair Roller Dance, Pair Skating, Four-Person Show, Synchronized Skating, and Small Group Show/Large Group Show. A total of 22 gold medals will be awarded.

In addition to its athletic excitement, the event also presents a distinctive cultural and creative identity. The mascot, inspired by the swift, incorporates elements of the Great Wall beacon towers, traditional Chinese kites, and modern roller skating, symbolizing the athletes’ resilience and vitality. The medal design innovatively adopts the concept of "one medal, two ways to wear": the Great Wall forms the base, while the central roller-skating silhouette can be removed and worn as a pendant. The event also leverages world-class tourism resources such as the Badaling Great Wall, promoting "travel with the event" and "consume with the event", and demonstrating the deep integration of sports and cultural tourism.
