The Western Beijing Ancient Road once served as a vital cross-regional trade and logistics route as well as a cultural exchange corridor in northern China during ancient times, with numerous cultural sites under protection and intangible cultural heritage items scattered along it.

The discounted joint ticket campaign of the Western Beijing Alliance covers 37 scenic areas along the ancient road. Before December 31 this year, tourists can each enjoy a 50-percent discount on tickets to any participating scenic area within three months by presenting the paper ticket stub of any other scenic area covered by the campaign (some scenic areas offer free admission, a 30-percent discount or a 25-percent discount).
