A total of 20 "Roam in Beijing" city walk routes will take you on a visit to the most travel-worthy hutongs and alleys in Beijing. You may immerse yourself in a journey through time at the Drum and Bell Towers, enjoy the magnificent views of the ancient red walls and the White Pagoda, appreciate the beauty of swaying bamboo, and more.

Spanning across Beijing's six urban districts (namely Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Fengtai, Shijingshan and Haidian) and Tongzhou District, the 20 routes connect a total of 85 streets and alleys, showcasing historical and cultural areas, tourist attractions, business districts, and Internet-famous destinations. Among these routes, the 1.3-kilometer route featuring the history of the Bell Tower connects six exquisite alleys including Zhongku Hutong, Lingdang Hutong, Caochang North Alley, the east section of Zhonglouwan Hutong, Doufuchi Hutong, and Yuge Hutong. It passes through the Drum and Bell Towers and other scenic spots favored by locals and tourists. Another 850-meter route featuring Dashilan Historical and Cultural Block covers four iconic alleys including Dashilan Street, Dashilan West Street, Qingzhu Alley, and Yangmeizhu Xiejie Street. This route passes by a number of tourist attractions, including the Daguanlou Cinema, Guangdelou Theater, Ruifuxiang Silk Store, Tong Ren Tang, Zhang Yiyuan Teahouse, and Qingyunge.

From September 25 to October 25, citizens and tourists are invited to vote for their preferred routes in the selection for the "Roam in Beijing" best city walk route of hutongs and alleys. The top 10 routes will be announced by the end of October based on the result of the voting.
