On August 16, "Eternal Axis: Meow Night at Jingshan" (中轴长明之景山奇喵夜), the first immersive night tour program on the Beijing Central Axis, opened to the public at the square in front of the Hall of Imperial Longevity (寿皇殿) in Jingshan Park.

After collecting special devices, visitors become members of the "Cat Alliance" and follow performers on an immersive journey lasting about an hour. The story centers on six mystical cats tasked with guarding a sacred lantern on the Beijing Central Axis. Blending drama, traditional Chinese opera, dance, magic shows and martial arts, the production offers visitors a lighthearted and unusual way to tour the park.
AR interaction is the biggest highlight of the night tour. When pointing your device at historic buildings or performers, landmarks along the Beijing Central Axis, including Yongdingmen Gate, the Temple of Heaven and the Drum Tower, appear on screen. You can also unlock additional storylines and other surprises at the "hidden" locations throughout the park.
The entire performance takes place at the open-air square outside the Hall of Imperial Longevity. Non-invasive cool lighting is used to preserve the original appearance of this historic building. The hall remains open for exhibitions during the day, allowing visitors to admire its historic charm by daylight and enjoy an immersive theatrical experience after dark.
The night tour runs once at 19:00 from Monday to Friday every week, with two performances at 19:00 and 20:30 on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets cost 98 yuan for one person, 180 yuan for two people and 88 yuan per student. They can be purchased through the "Chaopiao" (巢票) WeChat mini-program. Tickets to Jingshan Park have to be bought separately.
Lighting will also be switched on at selected times in areas including the Five Pavilions on Jingshan Hill and the Hall of Imperial Longevity complex, to further enhance the nighttime travel experience and offer visitors a different view of the park after dark.
