The Spring Festival holiday has just ended. Still feeling the ''post-holiday blues''? No worries! A special trip to Beijing's Pinggu can help you bounce back in no time!
Jingdong Karst Cave Scenic Spot
Jingdong Karst Cave, with a history of about 1.5 billion years, has eight tourist attractions and more than ten views. The Jingdong Karst Cave 2025 Chinese New Year Lantern Night will last until February 12. All kinds of exquisitely shaped lanterns are arranged across a land of 400 mu (about 26.67 hectares) in the scenic area. There are also two intangible cultural heritage performances every day, Datiehua (striking iron flowers) and Huohu (fire pot) scheduled at 19:00-19:15 and 20:15-20:30.
Substation Gallery
Transformed from an idle substation, it has become a new landmark for art and design in the suburbs of Beijing, featuring the harmony between modern art and the rural environment. Here you can visit exhibitions, stroll around, or take photos, enjoying a wonderful, art-themed weekend away from the busy city.
Tiziyu Village
Tiziyu Village has a profound cultural legacy and a unique terrain layered like a ladder. It is a perfect getaway close to nature. The village also has leisure and entertainment activities such as lakeside ice fishing, ice car experience, and ice ring toss.
In addition, there are many local dishes worth trying in Pinggu District. Yajishan Puyuan Vegetarian Restaurant offers vegetarian dishes that are both tasty and healthy; Yuzishan "Yiguoxian" (a meal featuring the mixture of main dishes and staple food) embodies local dietary wisdom; and Wanghu Grilled Fish serves mouth-watering rainbow trout cooked with its secret sauce.
Welcome to Pinggu District this weekend for a healing trip that will beat your "post-holiday blues" with natural scenery and cultural heritage!
