The opening ceremony of the "Blooming in Beijing -- 2024 Beijing Chrysanthemum Culture Festival" was launched recently at Beihai Park. This year's festival features nine exhibition areas in the China National Botanical Garden (North Garden), Beihai Park, Zizhuyuan Park, the Temple of Heaven Park, Taoranting Park, Beijing Flower World, Beijing International Flower Port, Dongsi Sub-District, and Yanzhao Landscape Engineering Co., Ltd., with a total of over 200,000 square meters. More than 1,000 varieties of chrysanthemums in different colors and shapes are on display. Among them, more than 150 new varieties hold independent intellectual property rights in Beijing. The event will last until November 20.
During the festival, there will be various garden-themed activities. In early November, Beijing Flower World will host the 2024 Chrysanthemum Contest, gathering new and unique chrysanthemum varieties from across China. At the same time, there will also be other activities featuring specimen making, science education and chrysanthemum stamps. Notably, the exhibition area in the Temple of Heaven Park covers nearly 6,000 square meters, with eight display pavilions set up on the two squares to the south of Qinian Gate of the Hall of Prayers for Good Harvest. At these pavilions, visitors will find various chrysanthemum varieties arranged in artistic ways for landscape design.
