On March 25, Beijing's first targeted education program for embodied intelligence robots opened to students. The program is established by both the Beijing Polytechnic University and JD.com.

The first cohort will consist of 21 students selected from second-year students of associate degree courses at the university. With a two-year training period, students will spend over 60 percent of class hours on hands-on internships at industrial facilities. Graduates who pass the assessments will be eligible for direct employment by JD.com.

In their first semester, in addition to completing their original coursework, the students are required to attend compulsory courses for the targeted education program every Wednesday afternoon. The program adopts a dual-mentor system. Students will undergo training at the university's training base to enhance their foundational skills, and also have the valuable opportunity to visit JD.com's facilities. Industrial mentors will focus on guiding students in mastering practical skills concerning robots, such as operation and maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair, and integrated design.

In the fall semester of this year, students of undergraduate courses will also be accepted for the program. This will help cultivate more high-end skilled talents for the relevant industries.
