On September 11, the "East Meets West: Charming Beijing" Cultural Salon Series, co-organized by the Information Office of Beijing Municipality, CRI Online of China Media Group, and the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center, was held in the "Colourful World" exhibition area at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).

As a key part of the 11th "Colourful World" Cultural Exhibition and Exchange Event at CIFTIS, the salon, themed "The Key of Nature", brought together diplomatic envoys in China, experts and scholars, and industry representatives. Through themed presentations, interactive experiences, and special displays, the event offered an immersive platform for international cultural exchange.

During the session titled "The Way of Nature", traditional Chinese medicine auricular acupressure using ear seeds and Nepalese singing bowl sound therapy gave participants a glimpse into wellness practices from China and abroad.

During the session titled "A World of Flavors", Chinese and international guests shared their perspectives on tea amid its lingering aroma. From "12 Zodiac Signs-themed" black tea to Ceylon black tea, tea served as a bridge between different countries and civilizations. Mandefro Shiferaw, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Ethiopia in China, and Kabazaire G Tina, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Uganda in China, then introduced the audience to the world of coffee, highlighting how different civilizations understand and preserve traditions surrounding nature's gifts.

To experience "East Meets West" is to appreciate the rich traditions of both the East and the West, and the appeal of their cultural convergence. As Grégory Ikomey, Counsellor of the Embassy of Cameroon in China, said in an interview, "Exchanges between countries are vital. This salon makes cultural exchange among people from different countries more tangible and closer to everyday life."
