On June 1, the "Visa Zone" at the Mutianyu Great Wall was launched as the first of its kind at a UNESCO World Heritage site (the Great Wall) in China.

As both a part of a World Cultural Heritage site and a vital gateway for international exchanges, the Mutianyu Great Wall is accelerating the development of the "Great Wall International Reception Hall". Visa and the Mutianyu Great Wall will work together to upgrade the payment environment within the scenic area and nearby commercial areas. By promoting innovative payment methods such as QR code payment, this partnership aims to enhance the use of international bank cards, optimize ticket purchasing and shopping experiences, and strengthen diversified payment services.

Visa has maintained its commitment to backing the development of an accessible payment service demonstration zone along the Beijing Central Axis, while promoting services like Beijing Subway's "tap-to-go" service using foreign bank cards, continuously optimizing mobility and consuming experiences for global tourists in the capital. To date, the number of businesses offering the "scan-to-pay" service in the accessible payment service demonstration zone has surpassed 10,000. The "tap-to-go" service is also reshaping the travel experiences of foreign visitors in China. Beijing Subway now enables commuters from more than 160 countries and regions to use Visa cards for direct boarding, completely bypassing the use of cash and physical tickets.
